Under new management

Ian and Suzanne Little are pleased to announce they have taken over the reins at the Small Winemakers Centre in Pokolbin.

As well as all of The Little Wine Company's wines, we have chosen three other leading Hunter Valley winemakers to showcase what is arguably the best line up of boutique wines in the Hunter Valley. You can taste trophy winning Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz as well as new and exciting varietals such as Viognier, Sangiovese and Petit Verdot. We guarantee that every wine is of outstanding quality.

Club Little Lounge

We have made some great changes to the Centre and soon Club Little members will be able to come and relax in the new Club Little Lounge, opening later this month.

Talga

The grapes for the Talga range are sourced from our Bald Hill Vineyard on the higher eastern-facing slopes of the Gundaroo Valley in the Canberra District. The higher parts of the vineyard approach 700 M above sea level. At this elevation, the cool nights and warm days give a typically long ripening period which allows slow accumulation of grape sugars and flavours.

Slope and aspect are especially critical in cool regions, where small differences in effective temperature can drastically affect ripening. The Chardonnay and Shiraz blocks were planted in the stoniest and rockiest parts of the property, as the rock fragments readily absorb heat during the day and retransmit this heat to the vine at night.
