2021 Sangiovese Rosé
Sangiovese Rosé has a vastly different feel and flavour to rosés made from other red grape varieties. The Little Wine Co Sangiovese Rosé combines the great drinkability of rosé but with an added textural dimension.
The Sangiovese grapes are grown on a southwest-facing slope in the Broke-Fordwich subregion of the Hunter Valley. The vineyard lies at the foot of the sandstone cliffs on free draining “mountain wash” soil. The open canopy and excellent aspect allow for steady ripening and excellent colour development.
Almost 30% of the juice was frained from the Sangiovese grapes prior to fermentation to produce this rosé. The rosé juice was fermented in stainless steel at cooler temperatures to enhance the fruit aromas and the wine was bottled nice and early in April to capture the full fruit flavour.
With its strawberry and cream flavours this is simply a delicious, easy drinking rosé. It has a round silky mouth feel, aromas of fruit tingles and blood plum and a long, lingering finish. Made from 100% Sangiovese, our rosé is enticing and the ultimate in drinkability. Chill and drink as an aperitif or with any summer style meal.
